Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who rose to become a formidable presence on the big screen, was found dead on Sunday afternoon. The 'Kedarnath' actor was found hanging at his Bandra residence in Mumbai.
Mumbai Police is investigating the death of the 34-year-old actor as a case of suicide. The police said that the actor had spoken to his sister on the telephone around 9 am on Sunday. An hour later, he had a glass of juice and took his tablets. The police added that the cook knocked several times on his door around 11:30 am to confirm the menu. When the cook and the actor's two friends who were staying with him in the house got no response, they then called a key-maker who helped open the door. The friends then rang up his sister and the police.

Families have been torn apart by lockdowns, we have become physically
distanced from our loved ones in ways we never imagined possible, the
passing of loved ones now has to be survived without the usual rituals
of comfort, careers have been upended, financial security has been lost,
what was everyday life has been reduced to memory, and on top of
everything else there is guilt that one’s worries are trivial compared
to what many others are going through – even as one cannot stop feeling
overwhelmed by these worries and fears. It is indeed a moment of great
mental health challenges. The death of the young actor has spotlighted
the need for taking these challenges seriously as a society, especially
in these fraught times. Only then can we heed them and try to heal them.
SUICIDE OR MURDER?

Now, filmmaker Vijay Shekhar Gupta
has decided to come up with a film based on the late star Sushant's
life and death and has titled it as 'Suicide or Murder?' Releasing a
poster of the film, he said, "I am making this film to end the monopoly
of the big stars and production houses of the film industry."
He added, "Through this film, I will fully expose Bollywood. Today, the children who come from outside, even if they are capable, they do not get the right opportunities because of the gang that has formed inside the film industry. I want to break this gang. My story will show everything that was done wrong with Sushant. That boy was forced to end his life. He was bullied by people and boycotted and was even fired from several films back-to-back."
Gupta said that besides Sushant, the film will also highlight the stories and plight of several other actors who have also undergone the same difficulties. "The film is not a biopic but is rather inspired by Sushant's life. It will spill the beans on many secrets of the film industry. Everyone has equal right on films and Bollywood, be it a person belonging to a B-Town family or some outsider," he said.
